Adding photos

Every item in your collection can have a photo. Photos make your collection look great and help you recognize items quickly.

How to upload a photo

1When adding or editing an item, tap the **photo area** at the top

2Choose a photo from your device

3The photo is automatically resized and optimized

4Tap **"Save"**

Tips for good photos

Use good lighting — Natural light works best

Keep it simple — A plain background helps the item stand out

Show the front — The cover or main side of the item works best as the main photo

Automatic photos from search

When you use smart search to add an item, Owlect often finds a photo from the database. This photo is used as the default, but you can always replace it with your own.

If you upload your own photo, it will always be kept — Owlect will never replace a photo you uploaded yourself.

Photo quality

Owlect automatically makes your photos smaller so they load fast, while keeping them looking sharp. You do not need to resize photos before uploading.
