Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Owlect.app (“Owlect,” “the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

Owlect is a web application that allows you to create and manage personal collections — such as dolls, board games, coins, vinyl records, sneakers, and more. You can add items with photos and custom fields, organize them into collections, mark items as for sale, and share collections publicly via links and QR codes.

Owlect is available in two tiers: a free plan and a paid subscription called Owlect Plus. Both tiers provide access to the same features — only usage limits differ.

3. Accounts

You sign in using your Google account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You may not share your session or allow others to access your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all content you upload to Owlect, including collection names, item descriptions, custom field data, and images. By uploading content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, process, display, and serve that content as necessary to operate the Service — including generating thumbnails, compressing images, and making shared collections publicly accessible.

When you delete content, we remove the database records immediately and clean up associated images from storage.

You represent and warrant that (a) you own or have all necessary rights and permissions to upload and share the content you submit, and (b) your content does not infringe any third party's intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Owlect from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your content or your violation of these Terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to upload, store, share, or otherwise use Owlect to distribute:

• Content that is illegal under any applicable law
• Sexually explicit content involving minors (CSAM) — zero tolerance. Such content will be removed immediately, the offending account terminated, and the matter reported to the relevant authorities.
• Non-consensual intimate imagery, doxxing, or content that violates another person's privacy
• Content that promotes violence, terrorism, self-harm, or hate speech against protected groups
• Content that harasses, threatens, defames, or stalks any individual or group
• Copyrighted material, trademarks, or other intellectual property you do not have the right to use
• Malware, phishing pages, or links to malicious or fraudulent websites
• Impersonation of another person or misrepresentation of your identity
• Attempts to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
• Abuse of the referral system through fake accounts or fraudulent activity
• Interference with or disruption of the Service, its servers, or networks

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines. Violations involving the zero-tolerance categories above will result in immediate account termination and may be reported to law enforcement.

6. Reporting Violations & Takedown Requests

If you believe content shared on Owlect violates these Terms, infringes your intellectual property, or is otherwise unlawful, please contact us at support@owlect.app with:

• The URL of the public collection or item page in question
• A description of the issue and the right or rule you believe is being violated
• For copyright claims: a statement, made in good faith, that you are the rights holder or are authorized to act on their behalf, and your contact information

We review reports promptly and will remove content found to violate these Terms. Repeat infringers will have their accounts suspended or terminated. Owlect acts as a hosting platform for user-submitted content; we do not pre-screen uploads but respond to valid reports.

7. Owlect Plus & Payments

Plans

Owlect offers a free tier and a paid subscription (“Owlect Plus”). Both tiers include all features — only usage limits (total items, collections, and sync cooldown) differ. Current limits are displayed on the pricing page and may be adjusted at any time.

Billing & Renewal

Owlect Plus subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) through our payment provider, Paddle. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges at the interval you selected. Prices are displayed in USD and include any applicable fees.

Cancellation

You may cancel your Owlect Plus subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will retain Plus limits until then. After the period ends, your account reverts to the free plan limits. Existing items and collections are preserved, but you will not be able to add new ones beyond the free limits until you reduce your usage or resubscribe.

Refunds

We offer a full refund within 14 days of any payment — no questions asked. If you are not satisfied with Owlect Plus, contact us within 14 days of your payment date and we will issue a complete refund.

After 14 days, no refunds will be issued for the current billing period. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and you will retain access to Plus features until the end of your current billing period.

Refunds are processed via Paddle back to your original payment method and typically take 5–10 business days to appear on your statement. To request a refund, email support@owlect.app.

Referral bonuses

Both free and Plus users can earn additional item capacity by referring other users. Referral bonuses stack on top of your plan's base limits. We reserve the right to revoke referral bonuses obtained through abuse or fraudulent activity.

8. Price Changes

We may change Owlect Plus pricing at any time. If we do, we will notify active subscribers at least 30 days before the new price takes effect. Your existing billing cycle will be honored at the original rate. If you do not agree with a price change, you may cancel before the new rate applies.

9. Public Sharing

When you enable sharing on a collection, its contents — including item names, descriptions, field values, images, and your display name — become publicly accessible to anyone with the link or QR code. You are solely responsible for the content you choose to make public. You can revoke public access at any time by disabling sharing.

10. Intellectual Property

The Owlect name, logo, and application code are our property. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission. These terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.

11. Service Availability

We aim to keep Owlect reliable and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable for any downtime, data loss, or service interruptions.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Owlect shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data, profits, or goodwill.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of Owlect after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
