1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Owlect (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

Owlect is a web application that allows you to create and manage personal collections — such as dolls, board games, coins, vinyl records, sneakers, and more. You can add items with photos and custom fields, organize them into collections, mark items as for sale, and share collections publicly via links and QR codes.

3. Accounts

You sign in using your Google account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You may not share your session or allow others to access your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all content you upload to Owlect, including collection names, item descriptions, custom field data, and images. By uploading content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, process, display, and serve that content as necessary to operate the Service — including generating thumbnails, compressing images, and making shared collections publicly accessible.

When you delete content, we remove the database records immediately and clean up associated images from storage.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Owlect to:

• Upload illegal, harmful, or offensive content
• Store copyrighted material you do not have the right to use
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
• Abuse the referral system through fake accounts or fraudulent activity
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers, or networks

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these guidelines.

6. Usage Limits

Free accounts have a base limit on the number of items. You can increase your limit by referring other users to Owlect. Each successful referral grants additional item capacity. We may adjust these limits at any time.

7. Public Sharing

When you enable sharing on a collection, its contents — including item names, descriptions, field values, images, and your display name — become publicly accessible to anyone with the link or QR code. You are solely responsible for the content you choose to make public. You can revoke public access at any time by disabling sharing.

8. Intellectual Property

The Owlect name, logo, and application code are our property. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission. These terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.

9. Service Availability

We aim to keep Owlect reliable and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable for any downtime, data loss, or service interruptions.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Owlect shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data, profits, or goodwill.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of Owlect after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
