How sync works

If you already track your collection on BoardGameGeek (board games) or Discogs (music), you can sync your entire collection into Owlect with one tap. Owlect downloads all your items with details, images, and metadata.

Board Games (BoardGameGeek)

1Create a Board Games collection

2Go to the Import page

3Enter your BGG username

4Tap "Sync Now"

5Owlect downloads your games with name, year, player count, play time, rating, and images

Music (Discogs)

1Create a Music collection

2Go to the Import page

3Tap "Connect Discogs"

4Sign in to your Discogs account and allow access

5Owlect imports your records, up to your plan's item limit, with artist, album, genre, label, and cover images

Data refresh

After the initial sync, you can re-sync to pick up new additions. How often you can sync depends on your plan:

Free - every 5 days

Plus and Pro - daily

Plan limits

A sync adds items until you reach your plan's item limit: 100 on Free, 2000 on Plus and 5000 on Pro. At the limit it stops adding new entries and pauses, and the Import page says how many came in. Nothing already imported is removed. Upgrade or delete items you don't need, and the sync picks up again on its own.

You can also disable sync in the integration settings on the Import page to protect your manual edits from being overwritten.
