Add Hot Wheels with Wiki Auto-Fill
Search a casting — series, year, and image fill in
Add a Hot Wheels car by typing its name, and Owlect searches the Hot Wheels Wiki as you go, listing castings with their year and series. Pick the one you own and the series and year fill in — when the wiki has them — with the wiki image used as the item’s photo. So each casting you add arrives with a picture instead of an empty record. The type (Mainline, Treasure Hunt, RLC, and so on), collector number, color, and condition are yours to record.
How it works
Open your Hot Wheels collection and add a car
Sign in to Owlect, open a Hot Wheels collection, and tap “Add Item”. The name field is the search box — lookup runs through Owlect’s server, so there is no key to paste and no account to connect.
Search by car name
Type the casting’s name — “Twin Mill”, say, or “Bone Shaker”. After two characters Owlect queries the Hot Wheels Wiki and lists matches, each showing the year and series so you can spot the right casting.
Pick your casting
Tap the car you own. Owlect fills in the series and year when the wiki lists them, and uses the wiki image as the item’s photo.
Add the type and condition, then save
Record the type (Mainline, Premium, Treasure Hunt, Super TH, RLC, Convention), the collector number, color, and package condition (Mint in Package, Loose Mint, Loose Good, Damaged), plus an estimated value if you track prices — then save and search for the next casting.
What gets imported
Series and year fill from the wiki when it has them, and the wiki image becomes the photo — type, collector number, color, and condition stay yours to set.

Frequently asked questions
Which car details fill in automatically?
Picking a match fills in the series and year when the Hot Wheels Wiki lists them, and uses the wiki image as the photo. The type, collector number, color, and condition are not auto-filled, so you record those yourself.
Does it fill in the collector number or designer?
No. The lookup fills the series and year only; the collector number, color, type, and condition are yours to enter. The designer can appear in the search results to help you pick the right casting, but it is not saved to a field.
Where does the Hot Wheels data come from?
From the Hot Wheels Wiki on Fandom. The lookup runs through Owlect’s server, so there is no account to connect and no key to paste — it works straight from the add-item screen on any Hot Wheels collection.
What if a casting is missing series or year?
Wiki entries vary, so a casting can come back with only some of those fields. Owlect fills in whatever the wiki has and leaves the rest for you to type, and you can always upload your own photo.
Can I track Treasure Hunts and values?
Yes. The Type field includes Mainline, Premium, Treasure Hunt, Super Treasure Hunt, RLC, and Convention, and each car has an Estimated Value field — both are yours to set, especially handy for STHs and RLC exclusives.
