Add Video Games with RAWG Auto-Fill
Type a game title — year, genre, and cover fill in
Add a video game by typing its title, and Owlect searches RAWG as you go, listing matches with their cover art and release year. Pick the game you own and the year, genre, publisher, platform, and cover image fill in for you — so each game you add lands with its artwork instead of an empty record. RAWG spans retro classics and current releases alike, so a NES cartridge and a brand-new PS5 disc resolve the same way; condition and region are yours to set.
How it works
Open your Video Games collection and add a game
Sign in to Owlect, open a Video Games collection, and tap “Add Item”. The name field doubles as a search box — lookup is built in, with no key to paste and no account to connect.
Search by game title
Start typing the title. After three characters Owlect queries RAWG and lists matches, each with its cover art, release year, and platforms in the subtitle so you can tell editions and remakes apart at a glance.
Pick the game you own
Tap the match. Owlect auto-fills the release year, genre, and publisher, picks the matching platform, and uses the cover art as the item’s photo.
Set condition and region, then save
Add the details RAWG does not track — condition (CIB, Loose, New/Sealed, Box Only, Manual Only) and region (NTSC-U, NTSC-J, PAL) — then save and search for the next title. Photos you upload yourself are never overwritten.
What gets imported
These fill from the RAWG record the moment you pick a match — condition and region stay yours to set.

Frequently asked questions
Does the lookup cover both retro and modern games?
Yes. RAWG’s database spans classic NES, SNES, and Genesis titles all the way through current releases on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC, so old and new games are found the same way.
Which game details fill in automatically?
Picking a match auto-fills the release year, genre, and publisher, sets the platform, and uses the cover art as the photo. Condition and region are not in the RAWG record, so you set those yourself — they take a couple of taps.
Where does the game data come from?
From RAWG, a large video game database covering thousands of titles across every major platform. Lookup runs straight from the add-item screen on any Video Games collection.
What if a game is not in RAWG?
A very obscure or region-exclusive title is occasionally missing. When that happens you can still add the game by typing the fields yourself and uploading your own box-art or cartridge photo.
Do I have to add games one at a time?
Auto-fill is per game, so each title is one search and one tap. If you already keep your library in a spreadsheet, the CSV import maps Platform, Publisher, Year, and Condition columns and brings the whole list in at once.
