A scan is not just a number. Owlect looks the code up and fills the item in around it.
Books — a scan resolves against Open Library, so the title and the cover art land on the item without a word typed.Music — a scan resolves against Discogs, so the release, its artwork and the fields that match come across together.Everything else — other collection types get the product name from a global product database, and the brand too on the types that track one.Your own work is never overwritten — auto-fill only ever touches empty fields, so anything you have already typed and any photo you have already uploaded are left exactly as they are.Nothing found, nothing lost — if the code is not recognized, the item is still created with the barcode saved, ready for you to fill in the rest.A Barcode on Every Item

Removals carry across — retire a board game on BoardGameGeek and the next sync takes it off your Owlect shelf.Your own additions stay put — only items that arrived from BoardGameGeek are ever taken off; anything you added yourself is left alone.Cautious by default — if the full list does not come through cleanly, nothing is taken off at all, and Owlect simply waits for the next clean read.You stay in control — switch sync off for a collection and nothing is added to it or taken off it again.Ready to organize your collection?
